Terms
Last updated:
1. Who runs it
Eye of the Needle is run by Needle Treasure LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. In these terms, "we" means Needle Treasure LLC.
Needle Treasure LLC30 N Gould St Ste R
Sheridan, WY 82801
legal@needle.global
These terms apply to anyone who registers to play. Wyoming law governs them, and disputes under them are heard only in the state or federal courts in Wyoming.
2. The hunt
The hunt is a contest of skill. We place a Treasure at a real location and publish information about the site. Players use it to work out the location, and test their answer by making a Guess on the Map. A Guess is right when it names the place where the Treasure was placed.
- Treasure means what we place for a hunt, as described on this site.
- Map means the map on this site on which Guesses are made.
- Guess means one question: was a Treasure placed at this place on the Map?
3. Who can play
- You must be 18 or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher.
- Paid Guesses are sold only to people who live in the United States and are there when they buy. They are not sold to anyone who lives in, or is buying from, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah or Washington.
- The hunt is not offered where the law prohibits it.
4. Guesses
- Everyone who registers gets at least one free Guess, and more are given out during every hunt. Guesses can also be bought.
- A Guess buys one answer, yes or no, about one place on the Map.
- That answer is all a Guess buys. A Guess does not buy the Treasure, any share of it, or access to images, the camera, the Map or any other part of this site.
- Unused Guesses do not expire and can be used in later hunts.
- Guesses have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, except for refunds (see section 7).
5. The Treasure
- When we place a Treasure, we abandon it. We give up ownership of it and do not hold it for anyone.
- Anyone can find the Treasure and take it. No purchase or registration is needed.
- A yes tells you where the Treasure was placed. You still have to go there and take it.
- Who finds the Treasure, and whether anyone does, is out of our control.
- Disputes between people searching for a Treasure are between them. We take no part.
- We do not deliver, replace or pay out a Treasure.
6. What we commit to
- Before a hunt opens, the Treasure is placed as described on this site.
- Every Treasure is placed on land open to the public, not on private property. When we place it, the place can be reached lawfully and without climbing, swimming or special equipment.
- No Treasure is within one mile of anywhere our owners or staff, or people in their households, live or work.
- Every image we publish of a site is real and was taken at that site.
- Every Guess is answered truthfully. If your Guess is right, we tell you before anyone else.
- No one connected to us takes part. Our owners, staff and contractors, people in their households, and anyone who learned a Treasure's location from us may not make Guesses or recover a Treasure.
Images, the camera, the Map and this site may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn at any time.
7. Refunds
- A Guess that has been answered is not refundable.
- When the last active Treasure is guessed correctly, unused paid Guesses bought in the 60 minutes before that can be refunded. You must ask within 14 days.
- We may declare a Treasure taken if we judge that it most likely has been. If it was the last active one, the same refund applies, counted from that declaration.
- If a fault on our side means you paid for a Guess and did not get it, or used a Guess and got no answer, we refund it.
- If we permanently stop running hunts, we refund unused paid Guesses.
- There are no other refunds, except where the law requires one.
Ask for a refund from your account. If you can't, write to hello@needle.global. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
8. Safety and liability
- Searching for a Treasure is your own choice and at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety, travel and costs.
- Do not trespass, break the law, damage property or put anyone in danger to reach a Treasure.
- Access to a place can change after a Treasure is placed. Checking that you may be there is your responsibility.
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from the search for a Treasure.
- If your actions while searching lead to a claim against us, you cover our losses and legal costs.
